GlowUp — Privacy Policy

Who we are
GlowUp ("we", "us", "our") is operated by Ross Manson, trading as GlowUp in the United Kingdom. We are the data controller for the personal data described below. Contact: support@getglowup.app.
What we collect
- Account information — your email address, to create and secure your account.
- Skin profile — your Fitzpatrick skin type and related preferences, to personalise UV-exposure guidance.
- Location — your device's location (GPS), to retrieve local UV and weather data. Your coordinates are sent to our third-party UV/weather provider(s) to return that data; we do not use your location for any other purpose.
- Tanning session data — session durations, computed UV-exposure figures, timestamps and streaks, to track your progress and pace your exposure.
- Subscription status — whether you hold an active subscription, managed through Apple and our subscriptions provider. We do not receive or store your payment-card details; Apple processes payment.
- Photos (Glow Timeline) — any progress photos you take are stored only on your device and are never uploaded to our servers or any third party. They stay under your control and are removed when you delete them or uninstall the app.
We do not knowingly collect more than is needed to provide the service.
How we use your data
To provide and personalise the service (compute local UV, pace your sessions, track progress), to manage your account and subscription, and to keep the app secure and functioning.
Legal bases (UK GDPR): performance of our contract with you (providing the service and subscription), your consent (e.g. location access, which you can withdraw in your device settings), and our legitimate interests in operating and securing the app.
Who we share it with
We use the following third-party processors, each only for the purpose stated:
- Supabase — secure storage of your account and session data.
- Open-Meteo — receive your location to return UV and weather data.
- RevenueCat and Apple — manage and validate your subscription.
We do not sell your personal data and we do not share it for advertising.
Storage and retention
Your account and session data are stored securely by Supabase. We keep it while your account is active. When you delete your account we delete the associated personal data, except limited records we must retain to meet legal obligations. On-device photos are never sent to us and are removed with the app or when you delete them.
Your rights (UK GDPR)
You have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to processing of your data, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time. You can delete your account and associated data from within the app in the app's settings. To exercise any right, contact support@getglowup.app. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
Children
GlowUp provides UV-exposure guidance and is not intended for children. It is intended for users aged 18 and over, and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under that age.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Changes
We may update this policy; we will post the updated version here and revise the "last updated" date.
